We're so exited!   It's that wonderful time of the year when everyone is looking forward to Christmas, and all it encompasses and represents.  It's all about giving, and best of all our celebration of the greatest Gift we've received in the history of the world.  May our hearts freely receive this Gift, and with great cheer freely give to others with the spirit the Good News provides us.

Merry Christmas Father, Thank You!

Fall Festivals Are Fun!

By golly, what a great time we had during our annual Fall Festival & Fellowship on the 21st of October!  Vendors and customers alike joined in all the games and enjoyed getting to know each other.  As you can see here, Josie and fellow customer were in the thick of our Scavenger Hunt looking for each of the items that eventually lead to a prize!

You should have seen the participants at "Muscial Chairs", that was funny seeing all those ladies compete for the last chair when the music stopped!  Jane and Kim were top notch "Music Miesters" and made the game a lot of fun.

Naturally, mom did a great job at organizing the fun events.  Here she is awarding a prize to some nice ladies who were "quick at the seat".

If you didn't get to join us that evening, please do for our 6th Annual Thanksgiving Celebration on November 18th, 6:30 ~ 8:30pm.  We'll be serving a nice turkey dinner with all the trimmings, and of course you'll enjoy a STORE WIDE SALE TOO!

Also, if you haven't participated in any of Jane's scrapbooking classes here at the store, you're missing out on a lot of fun!  Her next Store Class is scheduled for the 13th, and is limited to 10 seats.  She's going to show you how to make a 12 page "Card Kit".  You can drop by the store to secure your reservation, they're going fast!  Here's a sample of her class room in action, with Tammy teaching crafters how to make a "Bag Brag Book"....

Also, did you know we have monthly "Vendor Challenges"?  This is where we give vendors the opportuntiy to show off their crafting skills by creating something new out of something else.  Like our "clothes pin" challenge last month.  You'd be amazed at what they can do when they take a simple item like a clothes pin and add their special touches of painting, gluing, dabbing, altering, etc.  Here's a small sample of their work.  Do you notice the battery operated motorized clothes pin "Merry Go Round" with the tiny riders on it?  Yep, that's a guys thing for sure... Ernest (#1939) contributed that one.

This month's Vendor Challenge is all about paper roll tubes.  Vendors will alter or repurpose a paper roll tube into something new, fun, and crafty!  Please check out their entries each month, you'll find them at the front door on the display table and attached to the display rack in the front window.  Yet another "Fun-To-Shop" feature of Alamo Craft Company for you to enjoy when you drop by.

Lastly, there's a rumor going around that I was going Trick or Treating on Halloween!  Seems a certain vendor (by the name of Bianca) took my photo after waking me up from one of my cat naps and said it was a snap shot of my Halloween Scream Mask.  Not true!  I'm a scardy cat on Halloween!

Well, that's about it for now ya'll.  And until next time, take care of each other and be safe!

See you real soon, OK?

Celebrating National Card Making Day!

Saturday, October 2nd, we celebrated National Card Making Day in style!  And a hearty "THANK YOU!" to Kim & Renee who organized the all day event.  Refreshments, materials, patterns, and instruction were provided, and as you can see by Harriet's broad smile, fun was the order of the day.

Kim & Donna discuss a card making project while Renee
shuttles materials to waiting crafters.

There was a steady flow of students all day long, each with varying skill levels, but all shared a passion for creating something new, unique, and fun!

Customers throughout the day enjoyed learning new card
making skills and had a ball meeting new enthusiast!

Lastly, as you can see, I found a new Hidey Hole!  Don't tell mom or dad about it, sometimes I just want to nap without being disturbed.  Until next time, be richly blessed!  ~Rosa

Now THAT'S a FUN TO SHOP Tailgate Party Sale!

Last night, on the first day of Autumn we stayed open late and had the most fun together during our annual Tailgate Party Sale!  Vendors brought their favorite party foods and we provided a delectable BBQ'd brisket ~ compliments of vendor & Pitmaster Robbie Steinruck of Comfort, Texas.  As you can see in these photos there was no shortage of fine food and good times as vendors and customers dined and fellowshipped.  Throw in a Store Wide Sale to boot, and you're in the midst of a Fun-To-Shop event!

Of course, good music always adds to the atmosphere and compliments a great meal, and local musicians Rayah & Jason provided such throughout the evening.  Broad smiles and a thunderous applause proceeded each song selection as they worked through their repertoire.  Thank you Rayah & Jason, you were marvelous!

If you didn't make it last night, you missed out on a great time.  Of course, there's always next year, but don't miss out on future events between now & then ~ check our calender on the 1st of each month for more FUN TO SHOP events and sales at  http://www.alamocraftmall.com/.  See you soon everyone!  ~Rosa

Fun To Shop is COOL!

ROOT BEER FLOAT DAY last Saturday was an absolute blast!  Rich, thick, creamy, refreshing A&W Root Beer vanilla floats were just the ticket for taking the edge off a hot summer day for customers dropping by for a Fun To Shop excursion.  Customers and vendors enjoyed sharing in on the fun together throughout the day as they shopped and visited over their cool treats.  And let's not forget the $50 Gift Certificate Drawing we held.  When the day ended and all the entries had been dropped in the bucket, Teresa Pilic was drawn as the lucky winner, and was she excited when she found out Monday morning saying, "Oh my, I've never won anything, how fun"!  Congratulations Teresa, enjoy your $50 Fun To Shop Certificate!

IT'S ABOUT TIME!

That's what Tammy would say to my dad, seeing that we finally got this blog up and running.  She's been hounding dad lately to create a blog for Alamo Craft Company, insisting it's the wave of the future!  Even though he initially rolled his eyes at the idea (because he already creates, manages, and publishes two newsletters and updates the company website every month!), he's finally come around and made the jump, with a little help from me of course.  He promised me that if I maintain this blog, keep it active and up to date, and fun to participate in, he'll keep me in high cotton ~ serving me my favorite breakfast every morning and kitty treats throughout the day!  Now, THAT'S a deal!

So, to break ground on this historic event, I'd like to share a photo that Tammy took of me the other day while I was deep in thought.

OK, folks, that's it for now.  Hang tight, I'll be updating soon on all that's happening at Alamo Craft Company.

BTW, please join us this Saturday (the 21st) ~ it's ROOT BEER FLOAT DAY!  After your Fun To Shop excursion enjoy a rich, creamy, ice cold root beer float, it's on the house! Bring a friend to share the fun with, and be sure to register to win our Grand Prize Drawing for the $50 Gift Certificate!
